Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of lycée books, a used-book exchange for families of the Lycée Français de Los Angeles. By using the site, you agree to them.
What lycée books is
lycée books connects Lycée families to buy and sell used schoolbooks, with pickup organized at school. We provide the platform and help coordinate; the exchange of books is between families.
Your account
Keep your account information accurate and your sign-in secure. You’re responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are for parents and guardians.
Selling
- List only books you own and are entitled to sell.
- Describe condition honestly using the three tiers (Good, Fair, Acceptable) and price within the allowed range.
- You grant us permission to display your listing details and photos within the exchange.
Buying & payment
Prices are shown at checkout. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never store your card details. Books are reserved when you check out and collected at the scheduled pickup.
Seller credit & payouts
Sellers earn store credit on completed sales, which you can put toward books for the next year. If you’d prefer, you can request a cash payout instead. Payouts are processed by the lycée books team, and amounts follow the published split for each sale type.
Pickup
Orders are picked up at school on announced dates. Please collect on time; unclaimed orders may be returned to the seller or handled at the team’s discretion.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service — no fraudulent listings, no misrepresenting condition, no harassment of other families, and no attempts to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the site.
Problems with an order
If something’s wrong with a book or pickup, use the “report a problem” option on your order and we’ll help resolve it.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee that any particular book will be available or in a specific condition, and we aren’t a party to the transaction between families. We do our best to keep the exchange fair and running smoothly.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, lycée books and its organizers aren’t liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the service.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves; we’ll change the date above when we do. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
